Carbonless copy paper (CCP), also known as non-carbon copy paper or NCR paper ('no carbon required'), is a specialized coated paper that transfers information written on the top sheet to underlying sheets without traditional carbon paper.

When pressure is applied through writing (ball-point pen) or impact (typewriter, dot-matrix printer), micro-capsules in the coating break and release dye, creating precise copies. Self-contained versions feature both ink and clay coatings on the same side of the paper.
